Therapeutic Horse Riding In Lindsay
T.H.R.I.L is a not-for-profit organization with charitable donation status that aims to improve the quality of life for mentally and physically challenged youth and adults by providing equine therapy and para dressage instruction by certified instructors. Riders will experience the joy and thrill of being on a horse, while at the same time working on their balance, strength, coordination, and improving their self-confidence, self-esteem, communication and socialization skills
T.H.R.I.L.'s president and resident coach, Kelly Russell, is a CTRII (Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association Intermediate Instructor), and has been a CanTRA certified instructor since 1990. She has been active with Therapeutic Riding Associations in Ontario and Nova Scotia ever since. Most recently, Kelly taught Therapeutic Riding at Windreach Farm for 6 years, which she enjoyed immensely. After a year of renovations, Kelly is now thrilled to offer an accessible facility where she is able to provide a therapeutic riding program and competitive para dressage training on her own property. A Dream Come True! Kelly has a calm, clear and warm approach and has a wealth of experience. She thoroughly enjoys her role in improving the quality of life of mentally and physically challenged youth and adults through equine therapy.
Kelly is currently enrolling students and training volunteers for the 2019 spring schedule and welcomes all potential volunteers and students to Contact Us for more information.
Some of t.h.r.i.l. 's wonderful therapy horses:
We would also like to introduce Jetson, (on right) our new therapy horse!! Standing a mighty 15 2 hands, he is handsome, strong and friendly. He is quickly becoming a favourite.
We are pleased to introduce more ponies to our program - Tangles is an 8 year old Haflinger cross mare with a great mind and lovely broad back!
Amigo is the other recent addition to our program - Approximately 12 years old, his sweet disposition and charm is packed into his tiny frame, but he loves his new job and riders
